My journey with mandalas began with walks around the woods and a circle of stones I built there in 1989. I sense that in some way this journey has come full circle. When I drew the first version of the mandala below it brought me a feeling of well-being, as if all my work with mandalas over the years led to this image.

The beginning of this mandala was my sense that the lines that radiate from the center point when the four circles meet in my four circles dream turned into stone pathways. These meant bringing out (from the center) the results of the coming together of the four circles. The pathways connected the quatrefoil with a circle of stones, which I associated with the circle of stones I built in 1989. I completed the path by expanding it around the quatrefoil. The quatrefoil encloses a deep blue pool and a gold diamond that, in unfolding from the center, touches the centers of the four circles. The encircling columns are free-standing, and open to green stretching to the horizon of a clear blue sky. The city that has everything one needs turns into the world. The gold circle around the outside of the image represents the crucible.

I found this toy soldier on the floor while walking through a store recently. I was immediately reminded of the
toy soldiers I had once written about. The one with the binoculars means, I see!
I like the synchronicity of coming across this little figure. My sense at the time of finding it was that it was connected to the stone pathway mandalas, and seemed to me a confirmation of my interpretation of them. It seemed to say to me, Yes, you see them clearly.
It also brings the message, Keep looking! There's more ahead. More to do.
